Live Sound Meeting in C&M Network

The groups will try and create "no sound moment" in the performance.

Noisy sound is like Cannon. Harmony is like Muses.

No sound is a moment for us, how we start the next moment, big tension and very meaningful. We have to feel the others in this moment. Creating a sensitive and dynamic moment of acquaintance to establish a relationship.

Real-time crisis is a constant reality in Israel. During the last war in the Palestinian occupied territories, there were hardly any artistic voices heard in Israel. "When the cannons roar, the muses fall silent" was a repeated text heard from within the Israeli cultural world.

During the war, C&M held an emergency conference day. Over 100 artists and art students gathered to learn and discuss the topic of art's role during war. Leading artists from cinema, dance, theatre, visual & fine arts and music took part in the discussions and committed to enhance art's responsibility in response to warfare, locally and internationally. To watch videos from the conference- please go to the media:video section of this website.

Israeli artists have decided to come together to find new ways for art to interact with reality and respond to current events, which in Israel are often lethal.

C&M Israel is a collaboration of academies Such as the Kibbutzim Seminar for Art, Technology and Education; Minshar school for Arts, art Houses such as The Arab-Hebrew Theatre, The Israeli Center For Digital Art, and artists from a wide range of art disciplines (for a full list, go to the "People" tab on this site).

Working in a continuous dialogue between its partners, C&M will launch its first large event in Israel in August 2009.

A 3-day event, containing performances, workshops and discussions will bring together young, as well as world-renowned artists, to explore new possibilities for developing solo and collaborative artwork.
